This week, Matt Salmon joins Snap Inc. as Commercial Director for its UK Enterprise business. He will be based in London, reporting to Ed Couchman, UK General Manager.
As part of his role, Matt will lead the UK vertical and category teams, continue to build on Snap’s strong revenue growth and further deepen relationships with key advertisers and their agencies.
Matt brings 20+ years of experience in sales and marketing – most recently he was Sales Director at Channel 4, leading the multi-award-winning 250+ commercial team. During his time at Channel 4, he led the creation of a new commercial strategy to diversify Channel 4’s advertising revenues and accelerate digital transformation. Ed Couchman, UK General Manager commented: “Thanks to his tenure at Channel 4, Matt has a deep understanding of, and passion for, the tv broadcast market, which will help us to further build on Snap’s strong momentum in the online video market.
“This, combined with his proven track record in advertising and reputational success means we will be able to offer our clients even more value and insights to drive tailored campaigns that support their business objectives.”
This is the latest in a series of senior UK-based EMEA appointments at Snapchat – last month Amber Sayer joined as Senior Head of Retail and ecommerce. Other recent hires include; Leila Woodington Director of Business Marketing for EMEA; Laura Clare, Senior Director of Communications for EMEA, and Jed Hallam who joined Snap’s Creative Strategy team as EMEA Head of Comms Planning.
Matt Salmon added: “I am delighted to be joining Snap Inc at this key moment in their expansion. Snapchat offers a hugely exciting and innovative opportunity for brands and I am looking forward to leveraging my broadcast experience to further develop our existing commercial partnerships and bring new clients to the platform.”
