Metro Bank is set to bring its banking revolution to the people of Canterbury later this year when the award-winning challenger bank opens its latest branch.

Canterbury residents will benefit from the new store being open seven days a week, early until late, 362 days a year. Unlike other banks, Metro Bank provides instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing for lost or stolen bank cards.

The new store will also have over 2,300 safe deposit boxes for customers to store their valuables and free coin counting facilities for customers and non-customers alike.

Not only does the bank invest in its high street presence, but it also offers customers the ability to bank online, via its mobile app and through its contact centres, which are manned by people rather than machines.

Iain Kirkpatrick, Managing Director of Retail Banking at Metro Bank commented: “We’re delighted to be opening a store in the historic city of Canterbury. Making banking simple and convenient is a real priority for us and we’re thrilled to bring residents a bank that puts customers at the heart of everything it does.

“Our stores provide something new and different to the local community and it’s essential that we continue to provide the services that customers want and need. This means creating around 25 new careers, taking part in local activities and hosting free networking events for the whole community. Canterbury is an extraordinary city that we’re excited to be a part of and we’ll be celebrating our new store with two days of grand opening festivities later this year.”

Metro Bank sources the very best locations for its stores and is proud to make an investment in Canterbury’s city centre and has secured a prominent location at: 2 St George’s Street, Canterbury, CT1 2SR.
