Multi-million pound scheme set to bring over 50 jobs to Wakefield

Marshall CDP has just completed phase three of its £10m industrial development at South Kirkby, Wakefield.  The latest three units of this speculative scheme which first commenced in 2014 were completed earlier this month.

Commenting on the development, Carter Towler surveyor Hazel Cooper said: “Marshall’s have done an excellent job, everything has been completed on time, to budget and the standard of construction is excellent.

“These units have the added benefit of being located within the Wakefield Enterprise Zone and therefore come with considerable financial incentives.

“We are extremely pleased with how well the scheme has come together. This is a great location in the heart of West Yorkshire and the Enterprise Zone business benefits, including rates holidays on certain units and some fitting out grants, make it a compelling proposition for any company looking for new or additional industrial space in the region.

“The first two companies to move onto the business park, shredding company PHS Data Solutions and commercial vehicle converters VFS, are settling in well and we are sure the remaining three units which measure 13,600, 10,000 and 11,500 sq ft will also soon be occupied.

“Together the businesses here will create many new job opportunities and that in turn will have a very positive impact on the local economy, VFS alone has already taken on over 50 new employees”

“Whilst it is a speculative scheme and that requires a certain level of confidence, Marshall’s were very aware of the shortage of high quality small to medium sized distribution, warehouse or manufacturing units in the area. These are the only new units of this size within a 10 mile radius of the site.”
