My Working Day – Csiszár Gergő – Founder & CEO Post For Rent

As the leader of a company, you are there to set an example, to lead and inspire a team individuals to achieve a series of business goals. But how do these business leaders go about their daily routine?
Business Leader spoke to Csiszár Gergő, Founder & CEO Post For Rent about his working day.
WHAT TIME DO YOU USUALLY WAKE UP?
Between 6-7am.
WHAT DO YOU TYPICALLY HAVE FOR BREAKFAST?
Coffee! I really need my caffeine dose in the morning to get the day going.
WHAT IS THE REST OF YOUR MORNING ROUTINE BEFORE YOU START WORK?
My morning routine usually kicks off with either a HIIT workout, or when the weather is good, a bike ride through the woods. I really enjoy boosting my adrenaline levels in the morning to prepare for a big day ahead.
WHAT IS THE FIRST THING YOU DO AT THE START OF YOUR WORKING DAY?
With a number of international partners, it’s important for me to make sure that I know my schedule for the day. With so many moving parts, it can be easy to fall behind! I strongly believe that constant, open communication is the recipe for success for any young business.
HOW DO YOU PRIORITISE YOUR DAY’S WORK?
There is an unofficial rating system for me, if a task or problem comes up then I score every task or problem just by looking at it. I go for the crucial ones no matter how long it takes, if I know that an important issue is going to take a really long time then I squeeze in some rapid tasks to stay effective.
DO YOU PLAN MEETINGS OR ARE THEY A WASTE OF TIME?
As a growing, international company it’s really important to plan meetings – especially with the various time differences! We have a number of brand new projects coming up, so to keep on top of everything, I like to check in with all the departments in the company and all of our partners every week, and the only way to achieve this is to plan recurring meetings!
DO YOU HAVE A WORKING LUNCH OR IS IT GOOD TO TAKE A BREAK?
I keep those business lunches for important meetings. Partners, potential bigger clients or Venture Capitals, other than that I like to take a 30-minute break with colleagues, it’s healthy.
WHEN DOES YOUR WORKING DAY FINISH?
No working day is the same, we have partnerships across the world, so my feet are never on the ground for long. I like to make sure that I have achieved everything I have set out for the day to ensure that I can properly switch off in the evening. I make a conscious effort to ensure that my working life doesn’t infiltrate my personal life so I can relax and enjoy spending time with my family.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR THE NEXT DAY’S WORK?
I go through my calendar the night before and take some quick to-do notes for the coming days. That’s what works best for me so far. The mornings often get very busy very quickly, so I like to do some preparation the night before when possible.
FAVOURITE PIECE OF TECHNOLOGY?
I find Hubspot extremely useful and effective for our company. Very good to monitor EVERYTHING in one place, PPC ads, webtraffic, sales pipeline in all countries, product development roadmap. Saves a lot of time for me.
HOW DO YOU SWITCH OFF?
My wife recently gave birth to my amazing son, who I try and spend as much time with as possible. Besides that, making music. I have a studio at home, so I love to immerse myself into my music at the end of a busy day.
BEST PIECE OF ADVICE YOU’VE RECEIVED?
It came from my friend a while back, and is very simple. He said to me: “Go and take Sophie out again”. To give you some context, we both had a rough period in life and met on a date arranged by a mutual friend of ours. I wasn’t going to ask her out again after our first date, but my friend insisted, so I took their advice and asked her out again. What amazing advice it turned out to be – 5 years later we are married, she recently gave birth to our amazing son, and it seems bizarre to reflect on how close I came to making such a huge mistake and not calling her again. Calling someone is a small decision, but you never know what is on the other side of a small decision.
