My Working Day – Daniel Bulkin – Founder of Healistic

As the leader of a company, you are there to set an example and to lead and inspire a team of individuals to achieve a series of business goals. But how do these business leaders go about their daily routine? We spoke to Daniel Bulkin, Founder and CEO of Healistic, about his working day.
What time do you wake up?
At 7 am.
What do you typically have for breakfast?
I’m not a big breakfast person, so I will usually just have a healthy shake and a coffee
What is the rest of your morning routine?
I check my emails, read the news, plan my key deliverables of the day, gym, have breakfast, and then start the work day at 9 am.
What is the first thing you do at the start of your working day?
I think about the top three things I want to get done today.
How do you prioritise your day’s work?
I have various systems, but in a nutshell, I know what needs to be achieved in any given week and prioritise my daily tasks to fit that schedule.
Do you plan meetings or are they a waste of time?
I absolutely plan meetings, but we make sure to only schedule meetings that are crucial and can’t be solved via email or message. In terms of length, we try to keep them as short and crisp as possible, working with 15-minute, 25-minute, and 50-minute slots.
Do you have a working lunch or do you take a break?
I usually have a working lunch, if it’s just me. However, I often meet business partners or new acquaintances for lunch, in which case it’s outside and probably counts as a break.
When does your working day finish?
I would say we usually leave the office by 8 pm, however my personal work day finishes when all key tasks of the day are done and all important emails are answered. I stick to deliverables, rather than fixed hours.
How do you prepare for the next day’s work?
I document what I’ve accomplished and tick off all these things from my list. Then I prioritise what’s important for tomorrow and what new learnings we’ve had that day as a team.
What’s your favourite piece of technology?
The Healistic app of course! Besides that, probably my AirPods.
How do you switch off?
Going to the gym helps me a lot and I’ve really discovered Yoga for myself a few months ago. Besides that, going for dinner or a walk in the park with friends works very well for me.
What is the best piece of advice you have received?
Nothing is impossible and the hardest thing is getting started.
