My Working Day – Karnn Bhandarii – CEO of MaziMatic

As the leader of a company, you are there to set an example and to lead and inspire a team of individuals to achieve a series of business goals. But how do these business leaders go about their daily routine? We spoke to Karnn Bhandarii, CEO of MaziMatic, about their working day.

What time do you wake up?

I usually wake up between 6 to 7 am. As a business leader, I understand the importance of starting the day early, and I like to make the most of my morning hours to plan and strategise for the day ahead.

What do you typically have for breakfast?

Being from southern India, my breakfast routine is heavily influenced by my culture. I usually prefer local Indian food for breakfast as it is nutritious, tasty, and provides me with the energy and focus I need to stay productive throughout the day.

What is the rest of your morning routine?

Once I arrive at the office around 9 am, the first task is to jot down all the pending tasks, including the smallest ones, for both of my businesses, ePay.me and MaziMatic. I also make sure to review my personal to-do list at the management level. This helps me stay on top of my tasks and ensures that nothing gets missed.

What is the first thing you do at the start of your working day?

As mentioned earlier, the first thing I do is to check the support emails for both of my businesses, ePay.me and MaziMatic. I ensure that all the queries are addressed, and there are no unattended emails.

How do you prioritize your day’s work?

My Co-Founder, Aman, and I divide the tasks among ourselves to avoid any confusion or delay. This helps us prioritize our day’s work and ensures that we stay on track with our objectives. I am grateful to have him as my co-founder and elder brother, who has been instrumental in helping us reach where we are today.

Do you plan meetings or are they a waste of time?

We do plan our meetings for specific purposes, but in the cryptocurrency industry, many things happen at the last moment. Therefore, I ensure that I have a few slots available to take up urgent meetings or calls that may come up during the day.

Do you have a working lunch or do you take a break?

Lunch is a part of my daily routine, but I do not take a break from work. I usually have a vegetarian meal whenever I get some free time during the day. I am not a big foodie really, but I do need my dose of English tea and Indian tea to keep my energy levels up throughout the day.

When does your working day finish?

Our working day usually wraps up around 9 pm. However, because in the crypto industry, things can happen at any time, we keep announcing new avenues constantly. Therefore, there is no fixed timeline as to when the workday ends. We have been up for over 72 hours continuously during the launches at times.

How do you prepare for the next day’s work?

My co-founder and I keep messaging each other about our pending tasks for the next day. This helps us stay on top of our game and plan for the next day in advance.

What’s your favourite piece of technology?

As the tech industry continues to grow and evolve, we have seen many new and innovative things that keep me interested. However, I would have to say my mobile phone and laptop are my favourite devices that I use to stay connected and updated with my businesses.

    How do you switch off?

My day usually ends with me checking my Instagram and winding down by dosing off on my bed or sofa. After hectic days, it helps me relax and rejuvenate for the next day.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

The best piece of advice that I have ever received came from my mentors, and they told me this: “Never believe everything everyone says until you test it yourself”.
