National brewer acquires second Somerset pub

Rodney Stoke Inn
The Rodney Stoke Inn has been sold through specialist business property adviser, Christie & Co in an off market and confidential deal with The Liberation Group for regional brewer Butcombe Brewing.
Nestled on two acres of land on the edge of the Rodney Stoke National Nature Reserve between the historic city of Wells and popular tourist town Cheddar, the pub is easily accessible from main routes and attracts a number of customers from neighbouring towns.
The three-storey period building includes a main lounge bar as well as a dining area and restaurant which leads to a formal trade garden and split level terrace.
The property includes a function room with a bar and dance floor ideal for events with an optional marquee available for larger parties.
The grounds surrounding the main building include a caravan and camping site with 25 pitches and electric hook-up.
Nicholas Calfe, Director at Christie & Co’s Bristol office who handled the sale comments: “Christie & Co is seeing a high demand for good sized free houses that are already achieving a high amount of sales or have the potential to trade at higher levels with added investment.”
The Rodney Stoke Inn was sold off a guide price of £1m.
