Mock Tribunal event

An experienced business leader says Pardoes’ new-style networking breakfast is the best he has ever seen.

Rob Vivian, Pure Comms’ Managing Director, said Pardoes mock employment tribunal in Taunton took business networking to a whole new level.

Pardoes solicitors played out the mock tribunal at Taunton School in front of around 40 guests to show businesses across the area what actually happens in a real tribunal.

The tribunal was made up just like a real one, with a Judge, lay members, and the employer and employee acting in person – and the audience were able to question and vote on their chosen winner at the end.

Taunton School laid on quality drinks, pastries and a full cooked English breakfast which gave ample opportunity for delegates to meet each other and question participants.

Mr Vivian comments: “I have been to many business breakfasts over many years, but this was the best one ever. I enjoyed the interactive part of the morning and it was tremendously educational for business leaders. These are things we need to know.”

Maeve Vickery, Head of Commercial and Employment at Pardoes, comments: “We wanted to put on something different than the standard networking breakfasts. This was a truly interactive event which opened the eyes of many to how these employment tribunals work.”

Maeve is listed in the Legal 500 and is an acknowledged authority on Employment Law. She has advised the Government on recent legislative changes.
