Parcel delivery company DPD is set to move into its new £12 million distribution centre.

The new facility is in South Gloucestershire and is being managed by commercial property developer Stoford.

The new 68,792 sq ft unit at Vertex Park, Emersons Green, which includes distribution facilities and customer pick-up point.

Company directors say the site will create more than 100 jobs when fully operational.

The centre has been constructed following a period of unprecedented growth in the UK for DPD, thanks largely to its unique Predict service.

Predict notifies customers of their one hour delivery slot in advance, so they don’t have to wait in all day for a parcel.

Louise Ferguson, general manager of property at DPD, said: “We’re excited that our new centre at Vertex Park has been completed and we’re getting ready to move in. We’ll soon be able to start delivering parcels from here which means we will be able to provide an even higher level of service for customers in this region.”
