A new head chef has been appointed at a Plymouth restaurant that boasts one of the best views in the whole South West.

Daniel Weaver, who is born and bred in Plymouth and has lived in the city all his life, has now taken over the reins of the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill.

Located on the top floor of the Crown Plaza Hotel on Armada Way, the restaurant is a destination with a difference. Taking up space on the whole top floor, it affords stunning sea views over the Hoe and to Cornwall giving the perfect backdrop for diners looking to enjoy what Pierre White describes as ‘affordable glamour’.

Daniel said: “I wanted to be a chef from a very young age and was originally influenced and inspired by both my mother and sister.

“I love cooking and alongside making the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill the go-to restaurant in Plymouth, one of my main goals is to pass on my excitement of cooking to others and create a positive learning environment.

“To take the reins at a venue that has been developed and is overseen by arguably the greatest chef the UK has ever produced is both hugely exciting and a little nerve-racking in equal measure but I’m convinced that the team here has got what it takes to make this steakhouse an amazing place to dine for both visitors and locals to Plymouth.”

Philip Rankin, General Manager at Crowne Plaza Plymouth added: “It’s great to have Daniel on board. His passion for food and his driven personality have helped him advance quickly in his career. We’re delighted to now have him on board and look forward to welcoming customers both old and new to try out the new menu.

“For those that haven’t been here before, the view here is just so inspiring. Eating out should be all about affordable glamour and that’s at the very heart of this new menu.”
