New partners join Capital West London
Capital West London, the unique collaborative inward investment programme bringing together seven borough councils into one huge investment opportunity, with a £73bn economy, has signed several new partners.
Yoo Capital, WSP, and a consortium of West London FE colleges have joined the roster of top-level supporters, showing the support for the programme across the public and private sectors.
Yoo, the company behind the plans to reimagine Olympia in Hammersmith as a cultural destination and creative cluster, is keen to both increase global understanding of West London as a creative sector companies.
Global engineering firm WSP is working across the sub-region, including at Old Oak, where they are bringing forward designs for the new HS2/Crossrail interchange station. They can see the opportunities across the sub-region, and want to help global investment capital understand them.
The six colleges which have grouped together to support the programme – Barnet Southgate College, HCUC (the merged Uxbridge and Harrow Colleges), West Thames College, West London College, Stanmore College, and United Colleges (College of North West London and City & Westminster College) are now fully engaged with both the inward investment and trade promotion parts of the Capital West London programme. The talent pool is of course a key reason why businesses choose to locate in the sub-region, and the FE sector is well-positioned to support growing businesses with their staffing, apprenticeship and training needs.
Ian Liddell, Managing Director of UK Planning & Advisory at WSP, said: “We were delighted to accept Capital West London’s invitation to join as a Main Partner. As a business working closely with public and private sector clients around West London, this long term, strategic engagement will help us to continue promoting West London as an ideal place to invest in, and we look forward to contributing our built and natural environment expertise to focus minds on the delivery of West London Alliance’s plans and ambitions for future ready economic prosperity.”
Lloyd Lee, Managing Partner, Yoo Capital, said: “Our vision for Olympia aligns perfectly with the mission of Capital West London’s 2019 campaign and we’re excited to be collaborating with them, working together to make West London the capital’s leading cultural district.”
