National accountancy firm UHY Hacker Young has added fresh talent to its Nottingham-based team with the appointment of two new trainees.

School leaver Sam Klyman, 18, and 21-year-old Jack Brown, who has 18 months’ experience, have joined the firm in Nottingham as Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) trainees.

The duo will work to become experts in accountancy cloud-based software Xero, which can be accessed from anywhere at any time on any device with an internet connection.

Liz Searby, partner at UHY, said: “Cloud accounting is really pushing growth in our client support department. We have invested a lot of time and resources into training so we can provide support to our clients, demonstrating our commitment to the area.

“These appointments take our team in client support to seven so it is an area of practice that is expanding, largely thanks to the work we are doing with clients and cloud accounting.”

Xero can be used by clients to manage invoicing, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping and more, allowing them to run their business from any internet-connected device.

Simon Browning, partner at UHY, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Sam and Jack to UHY. They will be given all of the training they need to become Xero experts and the opportunity to work their way up the ranks at UHY will be presented to them. We look forward to seeing them flourish in their new roles.”
