North Somerset firm shortlisted for awards

Fhoss product

A North-Somerset based company has been shortlisted for a British Construction Industry (BCI) award, for its new personal protective equipment (PPE) products.

Fhoss Technology®, which is located in Weston-super-Mare, is in the running for the Product Design Innovation Award at the ceremony on October 10.

Andy Kimitri, Executive Chairman of Fhoss Technology®, said: “We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the BCI awards. The standard of entries is very high in all categories and to be nominated is a wonderful achievement.

“We launched an illuminated clothing range in March that helps equipment operators see workers in the dark even if there is no other light around and also ensures they can see where they are walking too.

“This is the next generation of PPE and several steps on from the high visibility jackets, trousers and vests workers wear that have been around for more than 50 years. This isn’t just reflective clothing. It is one step ahead, or even a giant leap forward.”

The BCI awards is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year with four brand new categories, including the Product Design Innovation Award.

The awards recognise excellence across a range of disciplines. Finalists receive visits from members of the judging panel and face-to-face interviews with industry experts.
