Omega Plastics wins new contracts following relocation

Gary Powner, MD
North East-based Omega Plastics Group has won significant new contracts following a strategic relocation to a new flagship site.
The rapid tooling and plastics manufacturing group announced its plans to expand and relocate to Team Valley in February. This follows the 2016 relocation of the Group’s Signal Plastics business to Washington.
The Team Valley site is the same building that Omega Plastics first started trading from, 21 years ago.
“We’re settling in well to our new home,” said Gary Powner, managing director at Omega Plastics.
“The additional capacity provided by the new site is enabling us to operate more efficiently and seek and win new and bigger contracts in a variety of market sectors.
“Three of these contracts are commencing the design phase over the next two months at our new facility, which will provide output for the automotive, construction and healthcare sectors over the next five years.”
Gary added: “We have invested in new equipment for spark erosion and wire erosion which will enable us to gain more control and efficiency of our internal processes and help to reduce time to market for our customers, which is critical to increasing market share of new product introduction.”
Through its Omega Plastics and Signal Plastics businesses, the Omega Plastics Group specialises in custom, recyclable multiple-use plastic injection mouldings and rapid tooling for the automotive, healthcare and FMCG industries.
