Leads 2 Trade has launched an installer network of approved OLEV contractors for consumers looking to get an electric vehicle charging point (EVCP) installed at their home or place of work.

The UK’s leading provider of double qualified sales leads is helping consumers take advantage of Government grants of £500 towards the total installation cost.

All charging points must be installed by OLEV (Office for Low Emission Vehicles) approved contractors, and only they can claim the grant on behalf of the consumer.

With more than 4,000 electric vehicles per week being registered in the UK, and the Government’s target of net zero carbon emissions by 2050, the thinking behind the network was simple.

“Due to more diverse and affordable electric vehicles starting to become available, more and more drivers are passing on petrol,” said Leads 2 Trade’s Co-Founder and Director Andy Royle.

“But what many consumers aren’t aware of is the Government electric vehicle home and workplace charging scheme and the grant that is available to them. So, we are putting them in touch with an OLEV-approved installer to help.”

Electric vehicles will also be exempt from company car tax in 2020 from April, so company car drivers will pay no benefit-in-kind (BIK) company car tax this year, one per cent BIK from April 2021 and two per cent from April 2022, the Government has confirmed.

The measures are designed to increase the uptake of fully electric cars among fleets, which contribute to almost six in ten new car registrations in the UK.

Royle added: “The new Government guidelines on BIK personal tax rules should also see a further consumer shift towards electric vehicles, so now really is the time to claim the grant.”

Leads 2 Trade has been providing double-qualified sales leads in the home improvement sector for 14 years and hit the three-quarters-of-a-million sales leads milestone at the beginning of the year.

And the EVCP network is just the latest development from the company as it looks to continue its growing success in 2020.

Their network also includes Compare Companies. This quote comparison service connects homeowners with the top tradespeople in their local area to save them time and money.

A further investment in its software systems for this year, with new contractor appointment booking software, a new sales lead vault and new Leads 2 Trade app, will provide members with an even better service.

Royle added: “One of the biggest contributors to our success is our continuous development in the business and we’re sure these new developments for 2020 will take Leads 2 Trade to the next level.”
