The UK Asia Business Council (UKABC) will be bringing its regional roadshow to Bristol this week to help businesses unlock their potential in South East Asia.

Organised in conjunction with UK Trade and Investment (UKTI), the event will be held at the Royal Marriott Hotel in Bristol on Friday 11 April, rounding off Export Week.Southeast Asia is rich in opportunity and diversity with some of the most sophisticated markets in the world.

The 10 markets of Southeast Asia are part of the ASEAN* (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) economic block.

With a rapidly growing consumer class, average growth rates at over five percent, and combined population of 600 million, the ASEAN market has been valued at over $2 trillion.

Steady growth, combined with investor friendly government policies have also attracted businesses keen to explore the vibrant new domestic markets.

UKTI Regional Director Russell Jones said: “The ASEAN market is a strategically important region which continues to outperform the rest of the world.

“Whether you are already aware of the enticing business opportunities that Southeast Asia has to offer or not, the range of elements involved in this roadshow event will be informative and exciting for any company interested in expanding overseas.”
