‘Outstanding’ Cotswolds hotel on the market for £6m-plus

Dumbleton Hall is set in 16 acres of ‘exquisite’ grounds.
A prestigious 19th century Cotswolds hotel ‘of very rare quality’ is being marketed by Colliers International for offers of more than £6million.
Dumbleton Hall Hotel is a beautiful historic property close to Cheltenham and within the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is located in a private setting of nearly 16 acres of stunning parkland, complete with ornamental lake.
Global real estate advisor Colliers is acting on behalf of Post Office Fellowship of Remembrance (POFR), which is seeking offers for the freehold hotel.
The house dates from the mid-1880s and has 38 en suite bedrooms, impressive public areas, a substantial restaurant and grand and well-furnished public areas.
Peter Brunt, Director of Hotels Agency at Colliers International, said: “In my opinion, this is the most significant single asset hotel opportunity to become available in the Cotswolds for a generation.
“It is not common to find a combination of accessibility and seclusion, but Dumbleton Hall offers both, and adds to that beautiful architecture plus an exquisite setting and therefore it gives the opportunity to create an outstanding hotel of very rare quality.”
And Julian Troup, Head of Hotels Agency at Colliers, added: “Nationally we are seeing great demand for quality hotel assets like Dumbleton Hall.
“This demand comes not only from UK-based owners and investors but also, and in significant numbers, from overseas buyers – for example, from India, China, South Africa and the USA.
“We have been successful in generating strong competition for similar hotels in a number of locations over the last 18 months through the strength of Colliers’ hotel teams here in the UK and across the globe and I am sure that Dumbleton Hall will appeal greatly to buyers seeking an already-established and successful business that has scope to grow significantly.”
