Building and project consultancy Paragon is celebrating the continued success of its industry-first drone service by achieving a milestone of 200 jobs.
Paragon launched what is believed to be the UK property industry’s first in-house drone service in January 2018, following the recruitment of ex-Formula One (F1) drone expert, Elliott Garrett. The innovative service provides Paragon’s clients with faster, richer and more cost-effective data versus traditional methods.
Since then, the consultancy has completed 37 separate portfolio projects, 163 roof surveys and 20 drone mapping projects spanning a total of 752 hectares.
Completed projects include fly-over marketing videos of a portfolio of 17 commercial properties for Marriott Asset Management, surveying a portfolio of five shopping centres for Praxis and drone mapping at Stanley Park Golf Club in Blackpool to create 250 holiday lodges and an adventure zone.
Paragon offers three main types of drone service. These comprise building, roof and aerial surveys; 3D and 2D mapping including topographical maps, contour maps and point clouds; and fly-over marketing videos with a full editing service.
New investments in equipment also mean Paragon’s clients can commission 360-degree virtual office tours, enabling users to navigate through a property ‘street view’-style as well as take measurements, tag items and make comments. For both landlords and tenants, the technology provides a clear dilapidation record of the property’s internal condition at the start and end of a lease.
