New vehicle lifting technology is helping one of the UK’s largest road tankers and haulage fleets to save time and reduce manual labour at its service centre in Maidstone.
PCL Group has purchased an innovative two post lift and additional cable-free mobile column lift from industry-leaders TotalKare in a bid to meet the increased demand for service and maintenance of heavy-duty vehicles.
These installations have delivered immediate operational benefits to the company, including increased lifting speed, 10% efficiency improvements and lower capital outlay in its workshops.
The electro hydraulic post, featuring a base-free design, is also perfectly suited for establishments that have to cater for large fleets of trucks and vans.
John Vickery, Managing Director of PCL Group said: “We offer a wide range of commercial transport-related support through our Service, Parts and Road Tanker specialist services. By installing these new vehicle lifts from TotalKare, we have ensured that we can continue delivering unparalleled customer service to our clients, whilst also offering them shorter turnarounds due to the faster lift speeds and the reduction in manual labour.”
Introducing additional mobile column lifts has given PCL Group an additional vehicle pit above ground and one that can be easily moved to one side when not in use.
TotalKare’s T8DC cable-free mobile column lift can be powered from a 230V wall socket, features a state-of-the-art hydraulic lifting mechanism and can safely lift up to 7,500kg per column. In the absence of interconnecting cables, health and safety measures are increased, reducing the risk of accidents in the workplace.
Adam Bowser, Area Sales Manager for TotalKare, concluded: “Our two post and T8DC lifts took less than a day to install, minimising disruption at a very busy time for the service centre. We have supported PCL Group for more than two decades and look forward to working with the business as it continues to expand.”
