Philip Treveil, Bruton Knowles appointment

The Plymouth office of Bruton Knowles has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new senior surveyor.

Moving to the south west from Kent, Philip Treveil has joined the commercial property team and will focus his time on valuation work for loan security, pension fund, statutory and charity purposes for a range of clients.

Philip will be working primarily on commercial properties including industrial, retail, offices, but he is also experienced in providing advice on development sites and residential units.

He said: “Once I decided to relocate to Cornwall, moving to Bruton Knowles was the obvious choice and will allow me to use my experience from undertaking similar work in London and the south east.

“I’ll be looking to expand our valuation capability across the south west and in particular in Cornwall.

Ashleigh Phillips, partner at Bruton Knowles added: “We’ve seen a consistent increase in the level of valuation work over the last two years so it’s great to have someone with Philip’s experience on board to consolidate, as well as expand our offer.

“Philip is the latest key appointment that we have made in the last two years to keep pace with the workload, especially in valuations, agency, property management, lease consultancy and business rates work and we intend to recruit further high calibre staff to realise our growth plans.”

Bruton Knowles have also announced James Bailey has been elected Managing Partner for a term of three years at their Gloucester office.

James joined Bruton Knowles in 1998 and has enjoyed a varied professional general practice career in the utility, public and commercial sectors.

He has been responsible for the Nottingham office since 2006 and under his leadership the Nottingham team has grown in size and standing in the market.

In his new role as managing partner James said: “As we enter a new phase in our long history as a Limited Liability Partnership, we are in an excellent position for the firm’s next stage of growth in a market which, although challenging, is full of opportunity.
