Mezze Restaurants has taken over the reigns of The Anchor at Ham Green to offer the pub a stable future and bring some much needed jobs to the local area.
The pub has seen four landlords in the past two years but Mezze Restaurants has signed a 20-year lease and is in the process of carrying out a major £350,000 refurbishment.
This revamp will create a new modern venue boasting a cocktail bar, Mezze restaurant, an A La Carte restaurant and outdoor Mediterranean garden.
Mezze owner Alex Tryfonos was keen to revive the pub and reinstate its position as the hub of the community, particularly as he lives only one mile away.
Mr Tryfonos, comments: “We are thrilled to be reviving another community pub and injecting a new lease of life into The Anchor, especially as it is one of my locals.
“The pub has experienced an unsettled past with a series of landlords in the last few years but we want to stabilise its future and create a thriving community pub.
“All of the venues we have transformed have been in need of some TLC and through our substantial investment we have helped to raise the profile of several areas.
“We hope that the community will get behind us and offer their support to this exciting new venture.”
Mezze is growing at a phenomenal rate and the Anchor Inn will be its fifth restaurant in five years in the South West region, closely following by The White Lion in Portishead
Mezze at the Anchor Arms opens to the public on May 4, following a series of pre-launch evenings from April 30 for local residents to see the transformation.
An official VIP launch evening takes place on Friday May 3, conducted by a host of local sports stars and celebrities at 7pm.
