Reconomy completes third acquisition in a month

Midlands

Waste management and recycling service company Reconomy has stepped up its ambitious growth programme with the purchase of National Services Group (NSG) – its third company acquisition in the past month.

NSG – another waste management firm – is the latest purchase by Reconomy, after it also acquired Advanced Waste Solutions (AWS) and a boutique packaging compliance consultancy.

NSG services include tool hire, waste management, plant hire, powered access, site accommodation and site services.

Paul Smith, Managing Director of Nationwide Services, said: “We are very excited to be joining the Reconomy group, a move that we believe offers significant opportunities for the future development of NSG, our customers and our people.

“Our strengths are complementary, meaning that both companies as well as our customers will benefit.”

Southampton law firm Clarke Willmott LLP acted for the shareholders of Nationwide Services in the deal. The work was undertaken by Corporate Partner Kelvin Balmont and Solicitor Hollie Blackwood Fisher.

Kelvin Balmont said: “We were pleased to be able to assist on this deal which is part of a much bigger expansion plan for Reconomy.

“NSG has gained an enviable reputation as a leading network of local service providers, particularly in the retail, construction, commercial and events management sectors. I’m sure the business will continue to thrive under the Reconomy group.”
