The Bristol, Bath and North Somerset branch of outsource human resources specialist The HR Dept has forecast record profits for the current financial year.

Net profits are set to hit £150,000 in 2015/16, a rise of more than nine per cent from the previous 12 months.

The year to July 2015 saw major growth as turnover rose to £738,610, up from £669,546 in 2013/14, and net profits climbed to £137,332 from £91,460 – an increase of 50.1 per cent.

Growth is continuing this year and staff numbers at The HR Dept Bristol, Bath and North Somerset have now grown to 16.

Recent appointments include a new senior health and safety adviser Michelle Frost, who started at the beginning of April, and Cat Long who joins the company as a health and safety advisor.

Client numbers at the company, which provides a range of outsourced HR advice and support to small firms across the Bristol area, have risen steadily during the past few years and now number more than 800 businesses.

Yet Anna Pepler, newly-appointed managing director of the company aged just 28, wants more. “We still only serve a fraction of our potential client base,” she said.

“We’ve had pretty good performance in the past 12 months, with consistent growth in our client portfolio, and we certainly can’t complain. But I’d like to see more.

“It’s a really exciting time to be MD. There is so much value that we can bring to businesses in Bristol and the surrounding area and as new legislation comes in regarding HR matters for small businesses our offering has never been more important.

“We have a great team and I am also really looking forward to adding to the services we can offer our new and existing clients.”
