Businesses and individuals from across the South West are busy entering one of the region’s major business awards.
Entries to the Business Leader Awards close in just over a week and a cross section of the West’s business community, including start-ups, individuals and big businesses are putting themselves forward to win.
Past winners have gone on to benefit greatly from becoming finalists, thanks to increased publicity and elevated status in their sector.
Finalists will be announced in August, following a rigorous judging process, that will see ten independent judges review the entries and visit the businesses.
A London style celebration will then follow in September to be hosted by Gyles Brandreth. Entrepreneur and Celebrity Caprice Bourret will also be attending.
Knightstone Housing was a winner last year.
Its CEO Nick Horne comments: “Winning a Business Leader Award was vindication for all the hard work we do; and as well as being a great night it allowed us to showcase this good work to those who matter in the region.”
Nick was recently appointed to the board of West of England Local Enterprise Partnership.
Richard Roller, who is the Founder and Joint Managing Director of Powervamp, was also a winner in 2014.
He comments: “Powervamp is global leader in advanced manufacturing. We employ 51 staff and work all over the world, with some of the biggest names on the planet. Winning at the Business Leader Awards has really elevated us to a new level and opened new doors.”
Andrew Scott, who is Founder of the Awards, comments: “Businesses can enter from across the whole of the South West, with fourteen categories to go for. Already, we’ve seen some outstanding companies enter and we wish them all the best of luck, as there is still over a week to go!”
