Roller Disco launches in Weston

A roller skating company is to launch its first roller skating disco in Weston-super-Mare as part of its continued investment across the South West.

Let’s Sk8 started with one event at Patchway Sports Centre this time last year and has steadily increased, now running regular roller disco sessions throughout Bristol.

Now due to their success the firm is to launch three new roller discos in Weston-super-Mare, City Academy and Knowle and new monthly Saturday themed session for the over 18s at City Academy.

The Weston roller discos will take place at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, in Hutton Moor Road, every month with the launch day taking place on July 21, at 5.30pm.

Managers Nicola Schorlee and Sharon Black said: “We are thrilled to be launching new discos in Weston-super-Mare and are hopeful that they will draw huge crowds.

“Roller skating is increasing in popularity as it is one of those rare activities that families can enjoy together and is a great form of exercise, which supports the Governments attempt to tackle obesity.

“Roller skating can also burn up to 600 calories per hour, which is more than other traditional styles of exercise, such as aerobics and basketball.”
