Rupert Cox will step down as Chief Executive of Somerset Chamber of Commerce and Into Somerset, BLM can reveal.
Mr Cox leaves the Chamber of Commerce, where he has been for nine years, at a critical time due to the impending construction of the new Hinkley Point nuclear reactor. Story here
Somerset Chamber is responsible for managing the supply chain, together with EDF.
The move also comes after months of speculation about the future of Into Somerset, which is a publicly funded inward investment organisation.
Sources close to BLM have said that funding for the organisation may be cut, due to restricted council budgets going forward.
Rupert comments: “The organisation and those within it have become a significant part of my life for nearly nine years, and while I will miss the talented team that I have assembled, it is now the right time to develop my career.”
No comments were available from EDF at this time.
