Sherry’s not just for grandma

Following the success of a series of events throughout 2011, Churchill based The Wine Tasting Company is hosting a Spanish and Portuguese wine tasting session on Thursday February 16.
The evening will begin at 7.30pm and tickets are £18 per person. The Wine Tasting Company’s founder Kelli Gould explains what will be available on the night.
“We’ll be dispelling a myth on the night – that sherry is just for grandma. It’s actually becoming a trendy drink which is growing in popularity in bars across the country and on the night guests will be greeted with a glass of fino sherry to sample.
“We’ll also be exploring wines from Spain and Portugal and you will get the chance to try some classics you know and some that are a little different.”
The Wine Tasting Company was set up by Kelli following a 2006 trip to New Zealand where she discovered a love for wine. Returning to the UK Kelli entered the wine trade, first in London and then in Bristol for an independent merchant and has since gained advanced qualifications with the Wine Spirit and Education Trust. Kelli is currently taking the diploma that is the stepping stone to becoming a Master of Wine.
