On 18 July, Bristol businesses are being invited to attend an ‘America Made Easy’ workshop hosted by Newable, in association with Business West and the Department for International Trade (DIT). The workshop will provide insights into what it takes for SMEs to ‘land and expand’ their business in the U.S – the UK’s number one export market.

The workshop is designed to help SMEs understand the practical side of getting started in the US, with critical insights from market experts on the common pitfalls facing UK businesses in this competitive marketplace.

The critical areas businesses must be prepared for will be discussed in-depth, including US banking, taxes, legal, new business, marketing, PR, recruiting and potential hiring issues.

Attendees will be able to hear from experts, including International Trade Advisors and successful businesses that have made the transition, as well as Newable’s own consultants.  As a leading delivery partner for the Department for International Trade, Newable supported nearly 10,000 U.K businesses to generate £2.5bn of new business in 2018 alone.

Josh Balster, Executive Vice President of Avitus Group commented: “The United States is the perfect place to become international, at least for your first step, once you have succeeded in the United States you can succeed anywhere.

“You have to do a lot of research and planning before you jump in. It’s complex. It’s diverse. It’s big. There is a tremendous amount of competition for market share. You not only have a large country, but 50 states with completely different regulations and tax structures. If you have the appropriate partners to help you on the ground, your odds of success are significantly higher.”

The event runs at The Engine Shed, Station Approach, Temple Meads, Bristol, BS1 6QH, Station Approach, Temple Meads, Bristol, BS1 6QH on Thursday, 18 July 2019, 09:00-13:00. Tickets must be purchased in advance and cannot be purchased on the door.
