South West truck and suppliers firm gears up for growth backed by Barclays

Wessex Truck and Trailer Supplies Ltd
Wessex Truck and Trailer Supplies Ltd, an established independent transport and logistics firm, has announced further plans for expanding its operation following the purchase of new premises at Solstice Park, Amesbury, Wiltshire, supported by a six -figure commercial mortgage from Barclays.
Founded in 2004 by Tony Godfrey, the company aims to deliver quality parts and service to a growing regional customer base from its two depots – one located at Quarry Way, Business Park near Shepton Mallet and now from its new location on the outskirts of Salisbury.
The company has continued to go from to strength to strength in the past 12 months with the additional capacity of larger warehouses driving an uplift in the number of fleet delivery vans and the strengthening its workforce, with the hire of three new team members. The company is set to increase its annual turnover to more than £2m in 2020.
Tony Godfrey, owner and Managing Director of Wessex Truck and Trailer Supplies Ltd, said: “We are delighted to be investing further in our offering to new and existing customers across the South West region and beyond. This move allows us increase our storage capacity as well as being ideally geographically located, to make sure we have the best resources available to meet growing demand and deliver the highest level of customer service.”
Andy James, Barclays Business Manager, South Wiltshire, said: “Wessex Truck and Trailer Supplies has a proven track record gained over 15 years of providing services to this industry. We’re pleased to have been able to support their growth plans and add scale to their business, which in turn supports their customers and the local economy.”
