Stephen Nixon, partner and head of commercial litigation at law firm Enoch Evans LLP has been appointed to the board of directors for Sutton Coldfield Town Centre Business Improvement District (BID).
Stephen joined Enoch Evans LLP in 2008 after completing a graduate diploma in law and obtaining a distinction in his LPC from Nottingham Law School.
The BID is overseen by a board of non-executive directors taken from the business base in the town centre, whose voluntary involvement is central to its continued success.
Stephen comments: “I am delighted to have been appointed to the board of directors for the Sutton Coldfield BID. Community and business relationships have been crucial to Enoch Evans LLP since it opened over 135 years ago, so I’m pleased to be working with the BID team to help Sutton Coldfield thrive.
The BID, which was launched in 2012 and was renewed after a ballot of businesses in the town centre for a second term starting in 2017, has been responsible for a wide range of projects to support the varied business base in the town centre.
These projects include funding the provision of high-speed broadband serving many of the office-based businesses, the SuttonCard loyalty scheme, and a range of events including the annual Expo, the month of music, and the Sutton Coldfield food festival.
It has also developed the Sutton Restaurant Quarter brand to promote the range of eating out options in the town centre and the BID was instrumental in the launch and continued support of Sutton Coldfield Chamber of Commerce.
