The Art Shed opens its doors for 2012
The Art Shed, Winscombe, has announced its Spring Term kicks off from Monday January 9th 2012.
Formally known as the Mendip Painting Centre, its Spring Term begins with the morning Watercolour Class run by Ros Cuthbert RWA, welcoming beginners as well as the more experienced for 12 weeks of demonstrations and projects.
On Tuesday’s Ros runs an all day class in painting where students can bring their preferred medium.
Ros’s husband, the painter David Cuthbert, runs the Wednesday Painting Class, and also the Wednesday Evening Class at which young students and adults work together on a range of projects individually designed for each person’s needs.
Ros comments: “There are lots of events and sessions planned in 2012 at the Art Shed and there is also always an exhibition of paintings for sale to be viewed by appointment.
“This February 18th – 19th we are holding a weekend of taster sessions for those who may be interested in joining. I will be running two workshops and in the evening there will be a talk on the History of Watercolour.”
Drawing on her 30 years of teaching experience Ros can offer talks on painting, occasional demonstrations, and plenty of one to one help, for those of all levels.
Ros comments further: “The Art Shed welcomes anyone who wants to learn to paint or draw. Members include retired people, people recovering from illness or living with disability, younger artists and would-be artists looking to develop a portfolio for applying to Art School.”
