A multi-academy trust has become the first educational organisation to win a business award.
The Priory Learning Trust scooped first prize as Employer of the Year, sponsored by Elite Staffing Solutions, in the Somerset Business Awards 2023.
The forward-thinking innovative multi-academy trust – only founded in 2016 – received the award at a black-tie dinner and presentation at the Winter Gardens Pavilion, in Weston-super-Mare in front of nearly 400 business people.
It is a tremendous achievement as the Trust is not officially in the business world but judges recognised the incredible leadership and management, HR department, business practices, efficiency and motivation packages at TPLT.
TPLT has around 800 staff helping to educate 5000 students in eight schools across Somerset, including in Weston-super-Mare, Highbridge and near Bridgwater.
The Trust is becoming known as a brilliant employer with a wide and expanding range of benefits for working for them.
Just some of these include: healthcare, professional development, discount platform, menopause support, local government and teachers’ pension.
TPLT is determined to improve even better and become the best employer around with further well-being projects planned.
Head of HR Danni Laing received the award with other staff.
She said: “We are all ecstatic to receive this incredible award. The staff at TPLT are a great team and all have a place in making it a brilliant place to serve the 5000 children educated in our schools.”
