The South West’s largest business expo returns

Leadership and support are to be top of the agenda at a forthcoming Business Expo. The seventh Business Showcase South West takes place on Wednesday 16th May at Ashton Gate Stadium in Bristol.

BSSW is now the largest business event in the South West of England and welcomed 5,542 attendees at the previous event in mid-October last year.

Keynote Speakers include Rob Law MBE, the creator of the Trunki, TV Property Expert Martin Roberts, Apprentice Winner Mark Wright and Amy Golding – the youngest female UK appointed CEO of a $100 million dollar company and has a strong connection to the South West.

She said: “I am delighted to be a keynote speaker at the seventh Showcase, following in the footsteps of inspirational female business leaders like Baroness Brady, Bev Hurley CBE and Bev James. The last year has been one of rapid growth and change and I am looking forward to sharing my journey, tips for success and what the future could hold.”

Talking about his return to the Stadium, Mark Wright said: “The Business Showcase South West is an excellent event, and one that I am delighted to be speaking at for a second year running. 2017’s Showcase attracted a range of prestigious brands and SMEs from in and around Bristol, eager to network, support one another, and, quite simply, do business.”

The Showcase is free to travel to, park and attend and has over 250 stand spaces taken by companies from across the region.

Over 5,000 attendees are expected to make their way to Ashton Gate to take part in eight Seminars, structured networking opportunities, workshops from Google and a huge business breakfast (a paid ticket required).

The Business Showcase South West was founded back in 2014 by TV presenter and Sunday Mirror columnist Jamie Breese.

He said: “I founded the expo after finishing a big TV series in the USA I had some downtime and I wanted to develop on the Only Connect networking events which I had been running occasionally in the region. I like seeing people come to together and doing well: the time felt right for a big business exhibition. I engaged Baroness Brady as my first speaker and it’s been just getting better and bigger every year’.

“It’s the Sponsors who help us keep it free for so many people. This time Worldpay & NatWest have comeback for a 4th time as have West of England Growth Hub too! They’ve been joined by global software firm XERO, Regus, Blackstar Solutions, local firm Proctor and Stevens and South West-based insurance leaders, Jelf Group”.
