Tilney Smith & Williamson Strengthens Audit Team With New Appointment

Mark Bishop

Tilney Smith & Williamson, which is re-branding to Evelyn Partners in the summer, has continued to invest in its audit team by appointing Mark Bishop as an Audit Partner in its Bristol office.

Bishop joins the wealth management and professional services group from Grant Thornton, where he spent more than 17 years as Head of Audit Culture, specialising in working with fast growth and entrepreneurial technology clients.

Bishop has experience of working with businesses in both the UK and internationally, having spent time working in the US, and has advised privately owned, private equity-backed and listed businesses.

Through its operating companies, Tilney Smith & Williamson offers an extensive range of financial and professional services to individuals, family trusts, professional intermediaries, charities and businesses.

Guy Swarbreck, Head of Tilney Smith & Williamson’s Audit and Assurance Department, said: “I am delighted to welcome Mark to the team. As we prepare to rebrand to Evelyn Partners in the summer, this appointment recognises our commitment to carry on bringing senior talent to the group to provide the best possible support for our clients.

“We continue to see growing interest in our audit services and are hiring outstanding partners like Mark to strengthen our offering. Mark has a great track record working with exciting clients, and I look forward to working closely with him as we continue to grow.”

Mark Bishop commented: “I’m hugely excited to be joining such a fast-moving business, and one that has a genuinely different approach to both its clients and its people.

“The Southwest is one of the most dynamic regions in the UK and desperately needs locally delivered services from a strong firm that is solely focused on working with mid-market businesses, backed up by the support of a national group with a consistent agenda.

“I’m hugely privileged to be joining a firm that shares that vision and has the ambition to make it a reality.”
