Locking Parklands has been named as one of the top sites in the UK for those searching for their first home.

Built by St. Modwen Homes, the residential arm of St. Modwen, Locking Parklands has been shortlisted in the Best Large Development category for the national First Time Buyer Awards.

Neil Simpson, Sales and Marketing Director at St. Modwen Homes comments: “First time buyers have faced a real struggle since the property market crashed in 2007 and even recent statistics show that it will take many people looking to buy their first home a decade to save the required deposit.

“As a company we have launched a number of schemes aimed at making life easier for first time buyers, for example our equity loan scheme FirstStep requires a deposit of just five per cent which is 75 per cent less that the national average.

“To have been shortlisted for the national First Time Buyers Awards is a fantastic achievement for Locking Parklands and to know that it is being voted for by the general public is even more rewarding.”

Despite only being one year old, Locking Parklands was also recently named the third best residential development in the UK in the national What House Awards.

The First Time Buyer Awards are voted for by the general public. Those wishing to vote for Locking Parklands in the Best Large Development category can do so by completing the online form at
