Trunki founder & Julie Davenport OBE set to take part in business speaker series
The University of the West of England (UWE Bristol) has revealed its programme of speakers for the forthcoming Bristol Distinguished Address Series.
In its eighth year, the Bristol Distinguished Address Series is well regarded by the city’s business community as the leading place to hear about the challenges, issues and decisions being made at the highest level of strategic leadership.
Lectures in the latest series will be held at UWE Bristol’s new state-of-the-art £55 million Bristol Business School building. The flagship facility, which features two showcase law courts, a city trading room and two Harvard lecture theatres, opened in April.
The Bristol Distinguished Address Series is free to attend and open to members of the business community.
The full lineup of speakers from September to December 2017:
27 September – Rob Law, Chief Executive, Trunki, will deliver a lecture on ‘Building a Global Brand.’
11 October – Sacha Romanovitch, CEO, Grant Thornton, will deliver The Annual Bolland Lecture 2017, entitled ‘Shaping a Vibrant Economy Where No One is Left Behind – How We Create a New Normal.’
25 October – Juliet Davenport OBE, CEO, Good Energy, will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Science, Climate and Politics: The Perilous Path to Decarbonisation.’
8 November – Tony Hayward, Chairman, Glencore, will deliver a lecture entitled ‘The Great Energy Revolution – Fact or Fiction.’
15 November – Richard Gleave, Deputy Chief Executive and Chief Operating Officer, Public Health England, will deliver a lecture entitled ‘Evidence Informed Leadership – How Does Evidence Influence the Leadership of Health Organisations?’
22 November – George Weston, Chief Executive, Associated British Foods plc, will deliver a lecture on the ‘Value of the Industrial Food System.’
6 December – Karen Blackett OBE, Chairwoman, MediaCom UK, will deliver a lecture on ‘Unlocking and Understanding the UK Consumer.’
