Trouble at Somerset building contractor as 60 jobs axed

Chard-based R G Spiller has fallen into administration today, meaning that 60 jobs have been axed from the building contractor firm.
The family-owned business has been long-established in the region, with management being able to trace their roots back over 150 years.
R G Spiller recently reported a turnover exceeding £18 million, although it has been reported that the business had been struggling with cash flow problems for a while.
Legalities of the administration are being handled by South West chartered accountants, Bishop Fleming.
More to come.
