Law firm Womble Bond Dickinson (WBD), which has a large office in Bristol, has won Firm of the Year (outside London) for its Projects, Energy and Natural Resources offering in the South West at the 2019 Legal 500 Awards.
The awards, which recognise excellence in the legal profession, follow the publication of the Legal 500 directory, the leading guide to law firms in the UK. The winners were announced following in-depth research and conversations with some 250,000 in-house lawyers.
Chris Towner, Bristol-based Partner and Head of Power and Renewables at WBD, commented: “We’re delighted to have been recognised by the Legal 500 awards on the back of our strong Projects and Energy credentials. This win is a direct result of the feedback our clients have shared and a tribute to our team, our in-depth expertise and the high quality advice we provide to clients in the region.”
In addition, WBD’s transport Partner David Rewcastle, who is based in the firm’s Newcastle office, won a leading individual award (outside London) in recognition of his work advising clients on complex and high profile matters.
In this year’s Legal 500 publication, WBD was recommended as a top tier law firm across 33 practice areas. 26 of WBD’s lawyers are listed as ‘leading lawyers’ with a further 200 recommendations for the firm’s lawyers across the UK.
