West of England businesses going for growth

Local Enterprise Partnership Board member, Councillor John Calway, Leader of South Gloucestershire Council, presented a certificate marking the award to Gary Seward.

More than 300 companies had applied to the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership for grants from the £25m Regional Growth Fund when the deadline closed on July 31.

The fund will generate additional private sector investment and it is anticipated there will be an injection of £100m into the local economy, creating over 1,300 jobs.

Applications will be processed in the coming weeks, but already, Pulse Roll Label Products from Yate have learned they will be receiving £36,000 which they will invest in ink manufacturing equipment.

The company, which employs 30 people, already sells in Australia, Poland, Russia, Italy and Spain. Founder, Gary Seward hopes they can further develop their international profile and he is targeting 25% growth in the next 12 months.
