Aspire Planning, based in Weston-super-Mare, has appointed a former local government planner as demand for its specialist planning services continues to grow.

Ben Lewis joins the town planning consultancy – which advises householders and businesses seeking planning permission for domestic, commercial and agricultural developments – as associate director.

Ben, who has a masters degree in town planning from the University of the West of England, was previously a planning officer at North Somerset Council.

He has also worked as a senior planner for both the States of Guernsey Government and Teignbridge District Council in Devon, where he was responsible for managing a team of planning officers.

James Davis, managing director of Aspire Planning, said: “We are delighted to welcome Ben to our expanding team.

“We have seen increased demand for our specialist planning services both from domestic customers and from businesses seeking to develop commercial premises. Ben will play a leading role in helping us service this growing demand and develop new business opportunities.”
