Weston College has been named Bristol and Bath Apprenticeship Provider of the Year at a ceremony in Ashton Gate Stadium in May.

The awards ceremony, hosted by The Apprentice winner and entrepreneur Lee Mcqueen, aimed to highlight the outstanding apprentices, top-class training providers and forward thinking employers in the Bristol and Bath area.

The College delivers a range of apprenticeships from Level 2 to degree-level, with its clients in the Bristol area including large engineering companies such as Rolls Royce and GKN Aerospace, and in Bath the College recently picked up a training contract with Bath RUH.

Beauty Oasis Spa, another Weston-super-Mare-based business that works in partnership with the College was awarded Small Employer of the Year.

Dr Paul Phillips CBE, Principal and Chief Executive of the Weston College Group, said: “We are thrilled to be recognised for our contribution to the region.

“We strive to support all of our students, no matter where they are or what they are studying, and this award is a testament to the hard work of our tutors and staff who continue to go above and beyond.

“We are most proud of our students, who continually exceed expectations with our support and help us prove we really are the best in the West of England.”

The college was recently awarded the Queen’s anniversary prize for higher and further education and two association of colleges’ beacon awards for widening participation in education and inclusive practice.
