Weston Hospicecare receives lottery cash injection

Weston Hospicecare has been awarded nearly £143,000 by the Big Lottery Fund’s ‘Reaching Communities Programme’,

The charity is one of only seven organisations in the South West to have received funding.

The Hospice says it will use the Grant to fund the Compassionate Communities Network which will provide direct support to carers of Weston Hospicecare patients.

Julian Abel, Medical Director at Weston Hospicecare said: “We’re delighted to have been awarded this Grant and so pleased that the considerable time and thought put into it has paid off.”

The aim of the Compassionate Communities Network is to encourage people in the local community to help each other out and support those caring for someone at the end of their life.
