The Weston Showcase event has been shortlisted for the ‘Marketing Campaign of the Year’ award at the Insider South West Property Awards (2012).
The awards are due to take place on October 18 at the Thistle Grand Hotel in Bristol.
The Weston Showcase event, that was held in March 2012, was attended by over 200 businesses, financial institutions, commercial organisations and business support organisations.
It was designed to launch Weston as an area to do business as well as highlighting the investment opportunities immediately available in the town centre and at Junction 21 Enterprise Area (J21EA).
The Showcase included a Business Insider panel debate and individual interviews; and an exhibition supported by organisations including developers, commercial agents, business support organisations and businesses.
Panelists included representatives from McLaren Life, Ascot Group, Knightstone Housing, Express Park, Leisuredome, Alder King, Burton Sweet, BT and North Somerset Council.
Ben Trickey of Summerfield Developments (SW) Ltd attended the exhibition and comments: “It was an excellent and well worthwhile event that brought together the business community of Weston and the wider region.”
The North Somerset business focused website www.innorthsomerset.co.uk was used as a central portal for providing news updates and details on the run up, during and after the event, as well as the event featuring in local and regional media and press.
According to organisers the North Somerset ‘business’ brand was used by exhibitors, business support organisations, businesses, developers and agents on display boards, leaflets and brochures many specially prepared for the Showcase.
This helped to reinforce the collective efforts to raise awareness of the commercial opportunities coming forward in Weston and helping to raise the profile of Weston (North Somerset) as a business location.
