What would winning a Business Leader Award mean for your business?

With less than four weeks to go until the Business Leader Awards entries process closes – businesses and entrepreneurs from across the South West are sending in their entry for the 16 categories available.
Previous Business Leader Awards winners have gone on to win new customers and achieve significant brand recognition – as well as receiving a large PR campaign.
Entries for this year’s awards close on August 14th, and to help you and your business out with your application, previous winners from our awards scheme will be explaining what they are looking for from entries.
Here, Andrew Pfeil, business development director at Stirling Dynamics, and ForrestBrown, founder and managing director, Simon Brown give advice to what they looked for when judging previous Business Leader Awards.
Andrew Pfeil, Stirling Dynamics, business development director, said: “It’s all about branding, it helps us not only locally but nationally and from a worldwide perspective as well. Awards like this mean we can say to customers ‘we’ve done this’ and ‘we’ve done that’. It shows we’ve achieved something and have been recognised for our capabilities.
“The value of these awards is that the more people who enter, the more value and weight, just entering has. The creditability of entering, let alone, winning, will add value to your brand and mean something for its customers.”
Simon Brown, founder and managing director, ForrestBrown, said: “We’ve entered the Business Leader awards for the past few years as they’re a fantastic way of raising our profile amongst local businesses.
“Two year’s ago, I was lucky enough to win entrepreneur of the year. Winning isn’t just satisfying for me personally, it is also a boost to the whole team and a validation of all of our efforts. An award win really gets the office buzzing with energy!”
