When in Rome joins B Corp community after pursuing purpose and profit

Sustainable wine brand When in Rome has recently announced it has achieved B Corp certification, joining a community of 1,500 UK organisations including well-known brands such as Patagonia, Ben and Jerry’s, and Tony’s Chocolonely reinventing business by pursuing purpose as well as profit.

When in Rome is no stranger to assessing its climate impact, becoming the first UK wine brand to publish the carbon footprint of its products with partner CarbonCloud two years ago.

Operations Director and Sustainability Lead Claire Forgione, said: “Assessing and publishing the climate impact of our wines was a great start to our commitment to transparency and becoming a B Corp was the natural next step.

“We chose to become part of the B Corp Community because we want to create benefits for all of our stakeholders – our planet, our customers, our suppliers, our employees and of course for the wine lover.”

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, commented: “We are delighted to welcome When in Rome to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good.

“We know that When in Rome is going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward.”
