Winners crowned at Business Leader Awards
A number of businesses and individuals walked off with prizes at the North Somerset Business Leader Awards.
Over 260 of the region’s top business leaders and companies were in attendance at the inagural North Somerset Business Leader Awards, which was hosted by Sir Ranulph Fiennes OBE.
The legendary explorer gave a twenty minute speech before overseeing an Awards ceremony to reveal the winners.
Over 103 businesses and individuals entered the Awards, with three companies shortlisted per category by a panel of judges.
Charles Cook, Managing Partner at Cook and Co Solicitors, who were key sponsors at the event, comments: “We were proud to sponsor the North Somerset Business Leader Awards – it was a superb night.

Michelle Michael of The Grand Pier, who won Business of the Year comments: ” We were delighted to be recognised by winning Business of the Year, especially since our business is three years old next month.

Graham Cooper, who was one of the ten judges, and is Managing Director of Portishead based OnePost comments: “The Business Leader Awards gave a clear message about the economic importance of this region, which is quite frequently overshadowed by larger neighbours.”
Mike Turner, whose business won Innovation of the Year comments: “Winning Innovation of the Year demonstrates that Staff Guardian is a business that offers a truly innovative solution for lone workers; and highlights this to potential customers as we continue to grow in the market.
“It was a fantastic night all round, with a great host and a professional, classy feel.”
