West-based Bishop Fleming has reported another year of expansion.
With offices across the South West, including Bristol, Bishop Fleming has risen up the national league table of the UK’s biggest firms from 40th to 38th.
To mark the period of growth all 26 partners and 280 members of staff attended a conference at the Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton to hear the firm’s latest results and plans for the future.
They heard how the firm’s fee income grew by more than 3% to almost £17m, in a year that also included the appointment of four new partners.
The firm also became Britain’s second largest supplier of accounting services to Academy schools.
Despite its expansion, employees also heard how the firm has exceeded its target to reduce gas, electricity, paper, and car-mileage by 5% per year.
Matthew Lee, Managing Partner at Bishop Fleming, comments: “Just as we help every client to build and deliver a business plan for growth, our own plan is gathering momentum.
“These are challenging times for accountants, and for their clients.
“We have a clear strategy of championing owner-managed businesses – from the smallest to the biggest – and providing the full spectrum of services from tax expertise to funding advice.
“We all take pride in what we deliver – from successful grant applications to successful tax plans, without succumbing to the siren call of commission payments to sell questionable tax-avoidance schemes.”
