Henry Moser grew up in Bury, left school at 16 and sold cars before co-founding Jerrold Holdings with Barrie Pollock in 1974. Half a century later the company, now Together, is one of Britain's largest non-bank lenders, and Moser remains its ultimate controlling shareholder.

Together has built its success on customers that mainstream lenders often overlook: the self-employed, people with complex or irregular income, buyers of properties that don't fit standard criteria, and developers who need money in days rather than months. Its range spans residential, buy-to-let and commercial mortgages alongside bridging, auction and development finance. With no banking licence and no deposits, Together funds itself through the debt capital markets – a model that has carried it through every property cycle since the 1970s.

The group's record has not been spotless. In 2012 the Financial Services Authority fined subsidiary Cheshire Mortgage Corporation £1.225m, and Moser personally £70,000, over mortgage sales and arrears handling between 2004 and 2009. Moser stepped down as the subsidiary's chief executive but kept the top job at group level, and the business overhauled its procedures and kept growing.

In 2024, Together announced that Richard Rowntree, formerly of Paragon Bank, would succeed Moser as chief executive. Rowntree took over in early 2025, and Moser became executive vice chairman. The first full year under the new leadership was a strong one. In the year to June 2026, the loan book grew to a record £8.5bn on record new lending of £3.5bn.
